Split: Listing Detail Page Questions

To post a new topic, navigate to the correct forum, and scroll down the page to find the ‘new topic’ form.
That red line is put there by your theme I suspect.

If you post the URL of that page we can have a look at the code to give you some pointers how to hide the “Places”.

Adding this in GD > Design > Scripts > Custom CSS

.gd-cptcat-row .gd-cptcat-title {
    display: none;
}

should solve both problem.
