I am in a very similar situation. I already have a site built with ithemes builder, so switching themes is not an option. I just need to know how to get the geodirectory plugin working and integrated into my site. I intend to subscribe as soon as I am certain this plugin will work for me. You can see my site at http://www.earnyourspurs.com. I don’t want anything to change other than adding a directory heading to the menu and being able to click through to access it. I would love to get your help as well, Guust.

I can see you have installed GD and got it working so far.
Can you post your WP admin details so we can have a look at your settings.
It seems to be a case of using a different page template for GD as that appears as a page within a page for the moment, or it might be even simpler than that.

I don’t know why you use that shortcode, that is not a GD shortcode.

You have correctly set up your homepage, and your directory is at http://www.earnyourspurs.com/location/
GD > design > home > Geodirectory home page > NO

Your theme does behave a bit strangely, it does not show menu locations as expected at Appearance > menus.
That is necessary to choose a menu at GD > design > navigation > Show geodirectory navigation in selected menu locations

Also, I do not understand why your GD pages are appearing within your normal page. I guess that is related to your iThemes settings, same as the reason why your menu settings are not working as expected.

I am not familiar with iThemes Builder, so I’ll get Paolo to have a look at your settings as well.

I didn’t know the pages were not supposed to show within the normal pages, as I haven’t seen the way it is actually supposed to look. I also did not put the shortcode in. It just showed up there automatically after installation. Maybe it will require some sort of work-around. I sure hope we can get it up and running because I really would like to use the plugin!

    Hi,

I don’t really know how that Theme/Builder works, but it appears to be creating layouts and views that are than assigned to different section of the website, like home, posts, categories and so on.

I see that you can create views for custom post type (like places), but I don’t know if you can do that for indivudal and virtual pages too.

What you’d need to do is to simply make sure all GD pages are using a full width layout without extra sidebars.

Asking in the theme support forum if it is easily possible to do such things, would probably speed up the process.

Once you know how to do that with your theme and builder, you should be able to make it work.

    Let us know,

    Thx

Once I set the page to full-width, how would I assign the geodirectory to a certain page?

I think you need to create a full width page layout, and set that as the default layout, BEFORE you install GD.
Then when you install GD, the virtual pages will automatically be created using that default template.
If you already installed GD, you might have to delete the virtual pages, and delete all the files of the GD plugin as well > then create the full width layout > set as default > install GD.

But I suggest you wait for Paolo’s review of this post to make sure the above is the correct procedure.

Guust idea could work, but the question should be asked to the builder author to be sure of how it works.

Personally I’ve never used it and I don’t really know how it works.

I would ask in the builder support forum something like: I need to install a plugin that will create virtual pages. I need them to be assigned a full width template because they come with their sidebars, Ho do I do this?

    Thx
