    I added this CSS in customiser:

    .fab {
    font-family: "Font Awesome 5 Brands" !important;
}

    The stylesheet at https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.8.1/css/all.css?wpfas=true does not have the “!important”.
    Not 100% sure why it does not work without that, and I’ll get the developers to have a look too.

    Just switching to the JS version will fix it too.

    Is this something that is going to be fixed and cause me to have CSS I don’t need at some point? This is at least the fourth time adding CSS to resolve something…

    Lots of those things are affected by other plugins or your theme, but most likely not in your case. I am not sure why you have this issue because I cannot replicate it on my test site, but the developers will have a look at your reports in case something needs to be fixed for upcoming versions. Thanks

    Thanks for reporting the icon thing, it was some code i had added to help with compatibility for moving from FA 4 to 5 but i have now removed it so it won’t affect this in future releases.
