Hi all,
Paolo mentioned that there was only one tester till now, so I thought I’ll give it a go. These are my findings. I am a bit lost how to proceed. Happy to do further testing.
Here are my results, Best regards, Peter
Installed
Theme Supreme
GutenbergInstallation V2
First try on site with v1. ->
Deactivate V1 -> Doesn’t work.
Delete V1 -> BingoAsks for Easy WP updates -> installed
GDV2 seems to be missing a lot of things that were available in V1 or hidden somewhere.
Dashboard shows listings: 0
Places: shows old listings
Add new listing: just Philadelphia. Like to change to Den Haag, Nl.
Where can I change that?Looked at old listings: sliders don’t work.
April 3, 2018 at 9:41 am #424716Hi Peter,
welcome to the test team 🙂 For the testing you don’t need Gutenberg, but you can also do tests with the blocks.
You have to do a clean installation, so please do not install it over a GDv1 installation. This will not work.
Yes, we are talking about the core and the functions are limited.
The default location is defined in GD – Settings – General – Default Location.
Best,
DirkApril 3, 2018 at 10:39 am #424731Hi Dirk,
I set it up on an old installation with v1 deleted.
I now found the advanced button (that I missed before) and a video. Since I had google API, already, I missed the follow to default location.
Thanks, Peter
April 3, 2018 at 10:47 am #424735Cannot install GeoDirectory Beta 2.0.0.8 on my staging website.
Please note I’m on a multisite environment.Error message is:
Fatal error: Class ‘WP_REST_Controller’ not found in …/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/includes/abstracts/abstract-geodir-rest-controller.php on line 16
April 3, 2018 at 10:54 am #424740with GD you have to activate the plugin in each installation, not network wide.
April 3, 2018 at 11:24 am #424750You need a clean database that has nothing of V1 left at this time.
So you will not be able to install it on a multisite where V1 has been installed somewhere else. Thanks
April 3, 2018 at 11:34 am #424754Okay, I guess I need a complete fresh installation, as Dirk says. I do not get into the wizard. Video suggests you can use older installation.
April 3, 2018 at 11:38 am #424757It is hard to find where to restart the wizard:
GD and help (see pic)Let’s make it a strong recommendation to use a fresh installation 🙂
April 3, 2018 at 1:03 pm #424782Okay, fresh install 🙂
Here are some findings ..
To be continued.
Api key “Done” button doesn’t work.
Dummy data installation page – doesn’t say what it is. (Video does)
Tab labels on active tab not shown on details page.
Slider on detailspage doesn’t always work
Menu: Location shows places. Places doesn’t.
Sidebar with address details are not shown (yet?)
April 3, 2018 at 1:25 pm #424783Hi Peter,
Thanks for taking the time to test.
You can’t use supreme yet as there are JS conflicts, we will need to release a new ver for GDv2.
I suggest the free theme “Primer” but you should be able to use any theme.
The done button with API key is actually in a Google iframe which means we have no control over it.
Thanks,
Stiofan
April 3, 2018 at 5:38 pm #424808Ok, also with me there are major errors.
After a new fresh install with wp 4.9.4, Avada theme and GD 2.0.0.8
GD was able to install correctly, then added a few CPT, widgets and menu from GD test installer (see screenshots).
But:
– google maps API key does not work: when trying to load a map in a place CPT it stays idle for ever
– when adding new place (“drop images to add” function under “places” > “add new”) it’s only possible to upload images from the PC and not from the media library
– when adding new place, images cannot be loaded from PC (“http error” red alert message, see screenshot)
– business hours don’t allow us to put “from” and “to” date in case of seasonal business (eg hotel open only in summer from May to October)
– when trying to see pages loaded by GD, I get a lot of visual code, is there any wp editor plugin we should use? If yes, which one: WPbakery….April 3, 2018 at 6:30 pm #424813@softfaber please start your own new topic.

April 4, 2018 at 6:56 pm #424979Hi Stiofan,
I installed the Primer theme which solved issues.
I did video 1 and 2. Video 2 shows detail page with sidebar containing address, opening hours etc. The video suggests that it should look like that in these steps. My installation has a sidebar, just not this info.
I’ll get on to the next ..
Best wishes, Peter
April 5, 2018 at 10:30 am #425104Hi Stiofan,
Testing 1,2,3 ….
The sidebar doest’n show. I expected a widget, but no widget or GD detail sidebar like in V1.x. So how do I make the sidebar?
I like the idea of being able to use shortcodes in detailpage, but I do not know the codes. I want the list view for example, not the tabs. How do I do it?
I like to test with Enfold, because that’s the theme I use on my production site. But I do not have an extra license. Did you test with Enfold? Is there an industry way to do this?
Thanks, Peter
April 5, 2018 at 10:58 am #425108Sidebars you just add the GD widgets to the theme sidebars and tell it what pages to show on.
I have done some basic testing with Enfold yes.
Tabs list view is not implemented yet as we are going to be changing how it works slightly in the near future.
Thanks,
Stiofan
