    Hi,

    I have a really strange issue with adding fields in “Manage Place Custom Fields”.

    I have added text fields before without any issues.

    If I try to add a text field and the Field Data Type is set to Character it is not possible to save the field. And if I reload the page the field has disappeared. However, if I change the Field Data Type to “Number” I can save the field and use it.

    I have no problem adding e-mail fields etc.

    What is wrong here?

    Thanks in advance

    Dale

    Hi,

    I can’t recreate this on our demos. Please provide a link and admin credentials and we will check.

    Thanks

    I’ve tested on your live website (this one no longer works) and i can see the error. I’ve flagged this for the developers.

    Thanks for your patience,

    Ok, happy that it was a bug and not me 🙂

    Do you have any idea when this will be fixed by the developers?

    /Dale

    Hi Dale,

    I can’t recreate this so it looks like a problem on your server, if any values in the field has the value “VARCHAR” it fails, u can try setting any value to that and it fails, you need to figure out why this is happening.

    Keep us posted.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

    Hi,

    my web host is trying to find what the issue is and has asked me the following:

    “Usually varchar issue indicate some problem with coding, but it might be related that your script / plugin require special php settings. If you can ask your script/plugin developer if there are any php settings which we need to enable on your hosting account that might help.”

    So, are there any specific php settings that need to be enabled on the server?

    Thanks

    Dale

    Hi Dale,

    This does not happen for anyone else apart from you, if it is code then it’s not our code.
    If you can provide FTP details in a private reply i will check if it’s coming from a plugin or theme, it does only seem to happen on wp-admin urls, this basic test form show the problem

    <form action="http://www.infolex.se/wp-admin/" methos="post">
    <input type="text" name="anything" value="VARCHAR" />
    <input type="submit" value="test" />
    </form>

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
