I have categories appearing as a menu at the top of my listings pages.

I have turned off the sub-categories in the category listing. When I click on a category is there a way to have the sub categories then show at the top, instead of the higher level categories?

Or is there any way to display a sub-category menu?

As a follow up, now I have turned off display subcategories in the widget menu, they do not appear in my breadcrumb trail of listings, but I need them there for clear navigation.

Do I need to configure this manually?

The breadcrumb uses the default category nominated for the listing on the Detail page.
On the Listings page, breadcrumbs should include parent and child category.

Try swapping the Popular Categories widget with the CPT categories widget. That widget has more options to adapt to category and subcategory pages.

Thanks Guust. I had some entries under the parent and not the correct sub and that was causing confusion. Tidying those up now and I think everything will then be in the right place.
I’ll take a look at the popular cat widget also.
