When someone adds a new listing to my directory it initially provides them with, what I will call, a temporary permalink to their listing. That temporary permalink is always configured using the same region/city.
The automated email that is sent to the user with a link to their new listing contains the temporary permalink.
However, immediately upon being published if I visit the directory and navigate to the listing a “correct” and new permalink is used/displayed.
How do I resolve this such that the confirmation email sent to the user and admin contains the new and correct permalink?
Here is an example:
Temporary permalink: https://biz.concealedcarry.com/places/united-states/kansas-1/claflin/firearmtraining/nkycdw/ (on my directory ALL listings begin with a url that starts with https://biz.concealedcarry.com/places/united-states/kansas-1/claflin/)
Correct/new link: https://biz.concealedcarry.com/places/united-states/kentucky/florence/firearmtraining/nkycdw/January 18, 2018 at 7:48 pm #413346Hi Jacob,
Are all your addons and core up to date?
If not please try updating everything and if so please provide wp-admin details in a private reply and i will take a look. Thanks,
Stiofan
January 18, 2018 at 8:31 pm #413351Stiofan, we are one version behind on WP Core but all WPGeo plugins are up to date. We can’t update WP right now as there is a conflict we have to resolve first.
I’ll add however that the issue I’m describing is one that has ALWAYS been present in the 2+ years we’ve been using WPGeoDirectory.
If you are open to taking a look now I can share those details or if you would prefer wait until it is fully updated I can return here once that has been done (probably a week out)
January 19, 2018 at 9:36 am #413428Hi Jacob,
WP core or GD core? If its just WP core i’ll take a look.

January 19, 2018 at 5:11 pm #413479GD Core is up to date. WP is just one version outdated.
Will post details privately
Thanks in advance,
Jacob

That worked perfectly but doesn’t reflect any of the previous ones I’ve had previously. Did you set that up while logged in as an admin? I wonder if that was a factor.
January 20, 2018 at 11:05 am #413584No, i registered a new use, is it maybe just paid listings?

January 29, 2018 at 7:58 pm #414861Ok, it happened again. The admin email I was sent has this link:
But if I navigate to it via the directory the link is https://biz.concealedcarry.com/places/united-states/utah-2/riverton/firearmtraining/utah-firearm-and-security-training-llc-2/
I checked the log (via the plugin you installed) and you can see the first and incorrect link is in the email sent to the user and the email sent BCC to the admin.
January 30, 2018 at 12:31 am #414902Was it a paid listing?
It appears, just from the URLs, that the location has changed between registration and viewing, and so the URL has been updated. It is now in a different state.
Can you advise about how to recreate the issue?
January 30, 2018 at 5:26 pm #415020No it was a free listing. To recreate, from the front end just add a listing using a fresh user account.
