Hi
I have set up a test website. This website has a separate url. Will i able to test your plugin upgrades with my licence keys for my account on a different url?
it is not linked to an active domain.
Thanks
AndreaMarch 17, 2019 at 5:47 pm #474998Hi Andrea,
Thanks for your post. Yes, you can use GD license on Unlimited domains that you own as explained here https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/membership/
March 18, 2019 at 12:15 pm #475117Your license has not been activated for this domain, please activate it first.
How do i activate the 2nd domain? i have looked through my account and cant find the option to add a domain.
ThanksMarch 18, 2019 at 1:46 pm #475126Hi Guust
Can you please answer my query,How do i activate the 2nd domain? i have looked through my account and cant find the option to add a domain.
I have the error message,”Your license has not been activated for this domain, please activate it first”. I cant do anything until i can activate and update the plugins. I appreciate you are busy but I dont understand why i was told how to activate the additional domain when the first query was responded to.
Thanks in advanceMarch 18, 2019 at 2:39 pm #475137Deactivate the license on the first domain, then activate the license on the second one.
March 18, 2019 at 3:04 pm #475140Hi Can I not register the domain so I dont have to do that? The whole point of the test is so that i dont make changes to the live site whilst testing and upgrading your plugins.
I have just lost 2 weeks through upgrades of GD plugins affectign the whole site and having to rebuild it. WP still havent resolved the issue.
Please, can I not register the second domain somewhere so i dont have to deactivate the live website? Is there not another way?March 18, 2019 at 4:39 pm #475160HI,
activation of licenses is made through your website’s plugins page.
First you need to install and activate wp easy updates and that will add the field to activate a license under each plugin in the plugins page.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/wp-easy-updates/
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks
March 18, 2019 at 4:47 pm #475161Hi Paolo
I have that installed and have had for some time.Do i need to deactivate and add the licence again for each one?
I have pressed upgrade and i get this error mesaage, “There was an issue determining where GeoDirectory Plugin is installed and activated. Please install or activate GeoDirectory Plugin.”Whatever we do here, can you please confirm that i dont have to Deactivate the license on the first domain, then activate the license on the second one (test site) as advised by Alex?
Thank you PaoloMarch 18, 2019 at 4:53 pm #475163If you moved your live site with it’s license activated and the domain of the new website is not identical (which I guess it’s not), yes you need to deactivate and reactivate them (that way you activate them for the new domain) only on the test website.
Thanks
March 18, 2019 at 4:54 pm #475164I confirm you don’t need to deactivate them on the main website…
March 18, 2019 at 8:33 pm #475208Thank you Paolo
The live site has the original domain, I copied the website and allocated the domain. I have tried to upgrade and i get the messages as in the above messages. I will deactivate and upload the new version of the plugins. I will need to do this on the test website first. I dare not just upgrade plugins on the live site as I cant afford a none functioning site for any longer. It has been over 2 weeks. How do I activate them on the test website? Do I deactivate on the test site and upload again? Please confirm that I dont have to deactivate the plugins on the live site to test these plugins on the test site. Do i need to add the test site domain somewhere or will they work simultaneously on both urls, the live site and the test site?
Regards
AndreaMarch 18, 2019 at 9:07 pm #475214Hi,
login into your test site, navigate to the plugins page in your WordPress dashboard. Scroll down till you find your GeoDirectory add-ons.
There should be a green text “License Key” like in this screenshot:
Click on the green “License Key” link and it will appear a field with your license and a deactivate button.
Click on the deactivate button. The “License Key” link will become red, like in this image:
Click on it and add back the license and click Activate. This will finally activate the license for the domain of the test website.
I hope it is clear because I can’t explain it better than this.
Let us know.
Thanks
March 19, 2019 at 6:55 am #475260Hi Paolo
I know all of that as stated identifying what I have done and what I plan to do, in context of the whole query that is not what I was asking. The critical question here is
“Do i need to add the test site domain somewhere or will they work simultaneously on both urls, the live site and the test site?”I refer to the error message generated, ”Your license has not been activated for this domain, please activate it first”.
as asked in all the previous queries.
March 19, 2019 at 1:35 pm #475344Andrea I did answer your question as exhaustingly as possible. If you needed to do so, I would have added it in the instructions.
So NO, you just need to follow my instructions.
Thank you
Thank you
