Hi! I found this problem on the first version of GD. And this problem continues in the second version. When I create a listing in some cities, the region is not connected. The region is mandatory. This does not allow you to create a listing.
Example cities: Riga (Latvia), Budapest (Hungary). The tooltip tells the user to select a region or enter a new region. But the user is not an expert in geography and administrative division of settlements. He may not know what to do.
Please explain why this happens and how to create such a listing.
August 9, 2019 at 11:05 am #502258Instruct the user to drag the map icon to update the address. The map api will supply the region etc.
Make sure you have not chosen the Location Manager option to disable update of the address when moving the pin.
August 18, 2019 at 1:57 pm #503544Unfortunately, your recommendation doesn’t work. You can check it on your demo site https://wpgeo.directory/gdf/ or mine. Please use the address “Gogola iela” (Riga, Latvia).
Perhaps I am happy if you disable the “mandatory” property for the “region” field.

Thanks for your reply. As explained by our developer here https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/set-address-on-map-issue/#post-503267 , Regions are required and I hope you understand.
August 18, 2019 at 7:13 pm #503572Thank you, I read it. It says, “You can just move the map, and in most cases it will automatically fill the seats. The problem is that in many places moving the map does not return the region. Apparently, there is no region in this place, if there was one, Google Map would give us the region.
What do you think the visitor will do if he or she receives a request from the site to enter a region for a place for which there is no region in the administrative division of the country? I think he will not be able to complete the publication and will leave the site. And what do you think?
August 18, 2019 at 7:34 pm #503574To test this problem, put yourself in the place of the user who needs to create an ad with a place in Riga or Budapest.
August 19, 2019 at 4:37 pm #503735I’m really looking forward to solving this problem.
August 19, 2019 at 5:05 pm #503738Hi Alexander,

August 19, 2019 at 6:32 pm #503748Hi Alexander,
If there are issues in a country we can usually fix them one way or another, i’ll do some testing tomorrow and report back.
Thanks,
Stiofan
August 19, 2019 at 7:15 pm #503764Stiofan, thank you for taking up the challenge. I met 2 cities without a region: Riga and Budapest, but I think this is not all the places on the planet where there is no region. I think that solving this problem will be important for the development of your product.
August 20, 2019 at 1:29 pm #503944Hi Alexander,
I have just released a new version of Location manager, please update it and test.
Thanks,
Stiofan
August 20, 2019 at 1:50 pm #503948Awesome! On those two examples that I’m telling you, it works great.
Will these changes affect other cities without regions?
August 20, 2019 at 2:49 pm #503968Both those countries should be fixed, if you find any others just let us know.
Thanks,
Stiofan
