I’m trying to use the plugin but I can’t successfully create a Place. Upon saving I get “This field is required” near the Category section. Although I have entered data in the fields I get that red feedback message and it won’t allow me to same anything.

The Category section behaves very strangely and I suspect that is what’s causing the problem. I’ve attached a screenshot. Does anybody know what is going on?!? I really want to try out this plugin but without a Place it’s useless.

    Anyone’s help is greatly appreciated.

That is indeed strange. Can you post your URL and WP admin details in a private reply so we can check your settings?
    Thanks

Please firstly set up a default location as explained at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#defloc

And change WP permalinks as explained at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#postnames

Then we can have another look.

    Thanks

Unable to set up a default location. Same problem, “Field is required”. Then won’t allow a save. See shot 1.

When I try to click on the strange block I get a search icon. See shot 2.

BTW, the permalink section gives the same issue.

    Hello!

Please try disabling non-GD plugins to find the plugin that is causing the conflict, and let us know what you find.

Disabling plugins does not delete its settings right? Re-enabling will restores with our preferred settings correct?

Yes, that is correct, just “deactivate” will not change anything, it just makes it inactive for the time being.

    Found two conflict problems.

1.The Plugin “WP Editor” by Benjamin Rojas causes visual problems with GD. It truncates form dropdowns and makes them so narrow they are barely visible and inaccessible.

    2. WooCommerce Shipping Label (BASIC) by XAdapter causes the real problem though. It precludes saving by not acknowledging data in a field and makes multiple ineffective dropdowns.

I am continuing to have a problem BTW, and am not sure if it’s due to additional plugin challenges. Like you suggested, I set a basic Default Location (city, state, country) and am now unable to create any GD Place that reside OUTSIDE of that default area. I used my office city as the default area and now I’m forced to setup all my Places WITHIN that city area.

Does this sound like an improper setting or another possible conflict?

Glad to hear you were able to fix the problems.
The location issue you have is because you only have the free plugin, which is limited to one city only.
You will need the Location Manager addon if you want to add other locations:

    Thanks
