Hi there,
I’m trying to make some changes at my listing details page custom field, but I ge this message:
“Column change failed, you may have too many columns.”
What could cause the problem? Should I make some changes at the server configuration? (On local the problem doesn’t appear)
Thanks a lot,
Simone

Thanks for your post. Could you please share your WP admin access here so that we could check your GD setup?
Thanks!

Can you tell us how to recreate the error?
In some cases database settings can limit columns, but most hosts have default settings that allow more than enough columns for GeoDirectory purposes.
You do have a lot of custom fields, though, so you may have run up against this limit with your host.
If the error repeats, you can come back here and share how to recreate the error, along with FTP and PHPMyAdmin access so we can take a look at the DB settings and find a solution.

I just added a custom field, and also re-assigned telefono 2 and didn’t receive an error.
Can you try clearing your browser cache and see if the error persists?
Thanks
September 5, 2018 at 8:58 am #445400Hi Alex,
I deleted my cache and tried again. I still have the same issue.
I also tried in an incognito tab, same.
Thanks,
Simone
September 5, 2018 at 2:40 pm #445446Hi Simone,
Thanks for your reply. I’ve just created a custom field and everything seems fine. Check out the attached screenshot and see the GD backend settings.
Thanks!
September 5, 2018 at 3:08 pm #445462Hi Kor,
that doesn’t really help me! I still have the problem.
Instead of creating a new field could you try to modify the one called Descrizione telefono, changing the value ” Show only on these price packages ?” from only BASE to BASE and PRO?
Thanks,
Simone
September 5, 2018 at 3:49 pm #445479Hello,
the developers will take a look at this as soon as they can.
September 6, 2018 at 7:04 am #445559Hello Antonella Gallino,
I have checked this error and I have reviewed db table. In this case the error is being shown because of a problem with the setup/settings of the field at the database level. The field was not created properly, probably due to a loss of connection between browser and server during the creation of the field.
In this case, when you see this error, please recreate the field. Delete it, then create it again and the problem should go away.
Let me know if works for you or not.
Thanks
September 6, 2018 at 11:58 am #445595Hi dhaval,
thank you for your suggestion! I’ll do that, just one question. If I do so will I loose the data saved in that field previously?
Thanks,
Simone
September 6, 2018 at 12:32 pm #445610Hello Antonella Gallino,
Try to delete fields after taking backup.
Thanks,
September 6, 2018 at 6:38 pm #445684Somehow that field does not exist in the table, try deleting it and re-adding it.
If there are any more like that let me know? Thanks,
Stiofan
