Hi
Since November I have a lot of traffic on my directory but I can not find how anyone gets to the directory from my site at all.
We set up the directory in January but have had to stop work on the site for a period of time. At the moment I have 3 entries on the directory but they get lots of traffic every day from the home page and many other pages, without a link going to the directory from these pages.
The other day I was on the homepage and moved the mouse, then ended up in ‘location’ in directory.
I have checked all the links on the site. I can not find how traffic gets there. Google analytics says it comes from within website, not external.
I have no clue how to even start solving this issue!
Has anyone else ever had anything like this before???
ThanksJanuary 10, 2019 at 7:23 pm #462575Hi Laura,
Thanks for your post. Sorry, I’m not getting this. Are you asking why users are able to visit your directory when you don’t have a link on your homepage? If I’m misunderstanding your question, could you possibly elaborate a little bit more?
Thanks!
January 18, 2019 at 12:00 pm #463924Hi
Thanks for the reply,The main page on my website visitors come to is https://drivewaywise.com/location/
The traffic does not come from google search or any other search engine
I do not have a link on my website to direct my visitors to this page.
Is there a bug on my site which shows the directory automatically? I have no idea.
I am sorry I cant be more clear, as I don’t understand it myself….
Any idea what this could be? Or where I need to go to solve this?
ThanksLaura
January 18, 2019 at 5:05 pm #464006Hi,
If you don’t know where the traffic is coming from (through analytics) how could we know?
Just FYI, that page is indexed by Google: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-ab&q=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fdrivewaywise.com%2Flocation%2F
Thanks
January 19, 2019 at 2:09 pm #464159Hi,
I am aware that the page is indexed by Google, though that is not where the traffic comes from.I can see in google analytics that the traffic starts on a lets say page X – then goes to the directory (which I think is automatic) and then goes back to the page X.
This indicates to me that they did not intend to go to the directory.
I have had my home page on my website open on a tap in my browser, then left it for a while and when I came back to it, the directory was open instead.
My question is this:
How can the web page change to the directory by itself? Is there any coding or any setting I should be looking at?
Thanks
January 19, 2019 at 5:46 pm #464181You probably have GeoLocation turned on and auto approved on your browser.
Setting is in GeoDirectory > Advanced Search.
If you provide admin credentials we can check.
Let us know.
Thanks

I disabled it, now it won’t redirect to the location page anymore.
Thanks

January 24, 2019 at 4:51 pm #465257Hi
I was hoping the issue would be solved, but it is not!!!!
Is there anything else I should be looking at?Thanks
January 24, 2019 at 7:46 pm #465279Is this happening to you or also to your users? If it only happening to you, make sure to clear your browser GeoLocation settings: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-can-i-clear-geo-location-settings/
Let us know.
Thanks
