Yes, the translation will work for the free core plugin.
If you get the Portuguese translation file and follow the instructions at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/ you will not have to do anything else unless you are not happy with the translations in the file at https://www.transifex.com/nomaddevs/geodirectory/language/pt_BR/

Can we please stick to your own topic.
You van also upload files using the file manager in cPanel.
It is exactly the same principle.
