September 11, 2014 at 7:27 am #15035I guess you are using GDF and I think you are looking for this string in
/wp-content/themes/GeoDirectory_framework/languages/GeoDirectory_Framework-en_US.poPosted <time class="updated" datetime="%1$s" >%2$s</time> by <span class="author">%3$s</span> <span class="amp">&</span> filed under %4$s.Let me know if I guessed wrong.
September 11, 2014 at 8:32 am #15045Found it! Is this gonna change when the GDF is updated? I also use the GD child theme, is there a way to save it there?
September 11, 2014 at 8:51 am #15051Have a look at
http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/translate-core/You need to move the MO file to /wp-content/languages/plugins/GeoDirectory_Framework-nl_NL.mo
Then it will not be overwritten. That is where all your plugin translation MO files should be.

Let us know,
Thx

The setting for your language is correct at WP-admin > settings > general and in your config file.
I think it has something to do with the fact that the GDF child theme does not know to pick up the translation from the GDF framework, and I think that could be solved by an edit to the child’s functions.php.
Paolo, let us know if I am on the wrong track. And that was news to me, that now you only need to set the language in the backend. It seems when upgrading from 3.9 to 4.0 that is automatically picked up though.
September 11, 2014 at 9:34 pm #15133In that case we will need for Stiofan’s to debug it.
We’ll keep you posted.
Thx
September 14, 2014 at 9:54 am #15327Hello,
Theme translations work a bit different in WP, the translations of GDF was done in the main theme but i have just released an update (i have updated your site) that will look for the translation in the child theme if active.
To translate GDf you should create a folder in your child theme called “languages” and add in the translation .mo files, unlike plugins the theme .mo files must only have the language name, so for English en_US.mo or Dutch nl_NL.mo
Guust if you could add a bit of documentation for this that would be great!
Thanks,
Stiofan
September 14, 2014 at 9:56 am #15328Thanks for looking into this, Stiofan.
Is the info you just posted for all themes (and child themes) or only for GDF?September 14, 2014 at 10:09 am #15330This applies to all themes but in GDF i have told it to look in the languages folder to make it better organised, technically in any theme you should be able to just add it to he root of the theme for it to work.
Please see here for reference: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/load_theme_textdomain
