Hi all,
another question about translating url part:
Is it possible to translate automatically (according to the site actual language) the main category (post type) in the url?
for example:
http://museum-advisor.com/museums/italy/tuscany/florence/uffizi-gallery/
to
http://museum-advisor.com/it/musei/italy/tuscany/florence/galleria-uffizi/
?
I bought also CPT. If it’s possible to change the main category (post type), is it possible to change also the custom one?
Thanks
Maurizio S.
July 6, 2015 at 1:51 pm #44802Ok, i translated it by:
WPML –> Translation Management –> Multilingual Content Setup –> Custom postsJuly 6, 2015 at 2:53 pm #44807Hi,
You will find options to translate custom post type slugs under WPML->Translation Options > Custom posts.
Select translate for the cpt needed and save, a new option will appear: Use different slugs in different languages for Places.
Once you select that, you will have option to translate your CPT slug.
Thanks
p.s. Please always refer to WPML docuementation or suppórt forum for questions related to WPML before posting here.
July 6, 2015 at 3:11 pm #44809Ok thanks all and sorry for the wrong post placement
July 6, 2015 at 3:45 pm #44818ok, that’s translated, but now i lost the page because the url is :
http://museum-advisor.com/it/musei/gd_taxonomy/galleria-degli-uffizi/
gd_taxonomy is present also if i delete it from
WPML –> Translation Management –> Multilingual Content Setup –> Custom posts…
July 7, 2015 at 7:20 am #44893i notice that the geolocalization parts of the url (italy/tuscain/florence for example) don’t appear even if the option in
“Geodirectory -> Permalinks -> Add full location info with country, region and city slug in listing urls ”
is flagged.
is it a bug?
July 7, 2015 at 9:12 am #44903How did u translate “museums” in the .po file or somewhere in WPML?

July 7, 2015 at 9:36 am #44904I used the WPML integrated options
First i flagged
WPML –> Translation Management –> Multilingual Content Setup –> Custom posts slug translation options -> Translate custom posts slugs (via WPML String Translation)
it appeared the option for translate the slugs in the url flagging:
WPML –> Translation Management –> Multilingual Content Setup –> Custom posts slug translation options -> Custom posts -> Use different slugs in different languages for Museums.
and there i wrote the various translations.
in english is ok… here is the working url:
http://museum-advisor.com/museums/italy/tuscany/florence/museums/uffizi-gallery/
but for the other languages is not… for example i got for the italian page of the listing
http://museum-advisor.com/it/musei/galleria-degli-uffizi/
and it gives the epic 404 error (and in the url the part about geolocalization (italy/tuscany/florence) don’t appears)July 13, 2015 at 9:16 am #45608This is still a problem, i think it will be fixed with the next update … correct?
July 13, 2015 at 4:50 pm #45637We are doing our best to make it happen.
Thanks for your patience,
