I have just started a new site using your plugins and themes (www.lokalkompis.se). I’m a bit in a hurry to get the new site offically started but I want to have as much as possible of the language to be in Swedish. I saw in your translationforum that there is a core translation done to 23%.
https://translate.wordpress.org/locale/sv/default/wp-plugins/geodirectory/
Is it possible to install this right away and later on develop and contribute to more words being translated? If not my question is if there is somewhere where I can do a quick fix in wordpress and translate the most obvious 50 words or so? I have also tried downloading Loco Translation plugin but when I update the theme my translation gets deleted.April 22, 2020 at 5:29 pm #541901Hi Marcus Ståhl,
Thanks for your post. Loco Translation plugin should work and could you share your Website WP admin access here in private reply and I’ll test it out for you?
April 23, 2020 at 1:07 am #541952We don’t have an integration with Loco Translate.
We recommend using PoEdit

Have you tried exporting here? (At the bottom)

April 23, 2020 at 6:21 pm #542186Now I got two answers getting me confused:) I would prefer to do use Loco translate as my developer skills isn’t that good (as in really bad). I have never logged in to the ftp etc.
Question to Alex: I have seen the export button and I guess it works but what will happend to the about 77% that isn’t translated into Swedish. Will it still show the english words? (That is If I somehow manage to get into the FTP:))
Thanks for you quick reply!
April 23, 2020 at 7:42 pm #542198Hi Marcus Ståhl,
Thanks for your reply. Both methods are similar but we only have this doc that guides you further this https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/translation/overview/ . Yes, for untranslated texts, it will display English words.
May 4, 2020 at 8:21 am #543358Thanks! I made it! The new files are up and running on the ftp:)
Now I’ve started to translate more words into Swedish in the core so that it will get better for me and other swedes using GD. What I understand people who are helping you guys out with translation get a free membership, that sounds great as well! What does it take and how do i sign up?

June 8, 2020 at 8:25 pm #543530Hi,
I was recommended to join the translation team and start translating that way. Now i see that all my words was rejected… At least I believe that my swedish is much better than english… Please tell me there is a way I can create my own PO and MO file so that I can use all the words I translated. Or maybe you guys can help me out somehow? Otherwise my time translating was wasted a second time after first using the plugin (Loco Translation) that didn’t work and now this..June 8, 2020 at 10:55 pm #543531Hi there,
If you need help with translation approval see the handbook here for how to contact us in wp slack.

You can always use your own PO and MO files, see instructions here:
