Trouble for translate

    Hi,

    I try to translate Geodirectory in french for my website.
    I put the geodirectory-fr_FR.po and geodirectory-fr_FR.mo files in wp-content/languages/geodirectory/ but my website is still in English.
    In the same way for geodiradvancesearch-fr_FR.mo and .po files.
    I checked on my WP-admin -> Settings -> site language and it’s set on french.
    I checked on wp-config.php and WP lang is also define to WPLANG’, ‘fr_FR.

    What am I doing wrong ?

    It should work if you followed the steps correctly as explained in this section of the documentation. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/ . Do you think you can share temp admin access to your site so we can take a better look? You can post the details here using the private reply option below.

    Yes I have read the steps on https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/ but I may be missing something.
    What do you need for the temp admin access ?

    What are u using to edit the po file? I see it was being detected but not working, i downloadied the po and the mo files and saved the po file to create a new mo file and uploaded it, it then worked. I did this for core, please see if you can fix for advanced search.

    I had downloaded it here https://wpgeodirectory.com/translate/projects but it doesn’t worked, so I used Poedit but I don’t know how I made the changes.
    I see the changes on my website, thanks you so much !

    I’ll donwload the other files for the addons and I’ll tried to translate the pluggins.

    Hi,

    Sorry, I can not operate the translation files. I tried for Advance Search and Location Manager.
    I downloaded the .po and .mo files here https://wpgeodirectory.com/translate/projects.
    Then I opened the .po file with Poedit, and clicked on “save as” and Poedit created the .po and .mo files on my desk.
    So I put this files on my FTP with Filezilla in wp-content/languages/geodiradvancesearch and wp-content/languages/geodirlocation but it’s not working.

    Can you help me to understand please ?

    I did the same with advanced search and it worked, all i did was open ans save then upload the new mo file, maybe u need to reinstall your poedit or maybe try and older version, or you could try a webbased converter: http://po2mo.net/

    Thanks for your answer.
    I tried with http://po2mo.net/, don’t work. I tried with 1.7.7 and 1.6.11 versions of Poedit, still don’t work…
    Maybe do I try with a windows computer ? I don’t understand why I cannot make it work.

    Location manager. It’s still in english in the menu for example.

    And I try to select the French in the Location Manager’s settings but it does not work, the box is left unchecked and nothing changes on the website.

    We had the exact same problem with another member only.

    Being him French too, we think poedit might have a conflict with a french version of a specific Operating system.
