Hello,
I am trying to adjust my default location in order to make my map zoom center correctly on all of North America.
It doesn’t matter where I set it, it’s still rendering the map in Mexico. Seems like it may be a caching issue but it’s not a web cache as the issue persists in different browsers.
Also, it seems that after the initial geodir setup, the only way to change the default location is through MultiLocations–>Manage Locations–> and then choose one of the existing listings to set as default.
Where can I change the main default location (without entering it as a listing) as I was prompted to do at the beginning of the geodir install?
Thank you,
Daniel
January 9, 2017 at 8:09 pm #339727Hi,
Once you install the location manager plugin, the screen to create/edit the default location is taken over. If you want to change it 1st add a location and then in manage location, you make it the new default.
However, the default location has nothing to do with the map zoom. The map includes all listings and the center of the map is the center point between the 2 farthest listings.
You can’t manipulate that, however if that doesn’t seems like it is what it is happening on your website, please provide a link and admin credentials.
Thanks
January 10, 2017 at 6:28 pm #340484Hi Paolo,
Thank you for the always excellent support you offer.
What I thought was happening was that once I turned off auto zoom, the default location was the center of the map and then the map zoom level dictated exactly that, the zoom level.
I want the map to autozoom to North America. I think I’m understanding that that isn’t possible. Correct?
Happy to send credentials and a link if you want to take a look.
Thank you,
Daniel

The only way to only show North America, is to only have listings in North America.
Thanks
January 12, 2017 at 10:54 pm #341755Hi Paolo,
I have eliminated listing that are outside of North America and the map is still zoomed to show the entire globe. http://csaday.info/csa-directory-2/

January 12, 2017 at 10:57 pm #341756[RESOLVED] I did not have the map Auto Zoom enabled.
Thanks,
Daniel
January 12, 2017 at 11:45 pm #341845I have auto zoom enabled, and my two furthest points are basically Scotland down to Morocco….
However the map always loads everything from norway to nigeria.
“map zoom level” doesn’t seem to change anything whether its ‘1’ or ’19’.
What can I change to zoom in more?
January 13, 2017 at 12:05 am #341847That’s the autozoom, it is not affected by the zoomlevel if you change it. If that’s how it present it, it is because zooming in once more would cut one of the markers.
Thanks
January 13, 2017 at 12:14 am #341850That’s understandable. Is there any way to make the map zoom just once? Therefor not cutting any of the markers.
January 13, 2017 at 12:30 am #341854Hi,
probably the only way would be to make your map a bit taller.
Thanks
January 13, 2017 at 12:51 am #341856hmm.. that does work. I suppose I’ll leave it though for now.
I was hoping maybe there was some code snippet I could use to override the default zoom.
Thanks
