Unable to edit GD posts from backend

    Hello,

    Suddenly, when this morning I tried to edit a GD post from the WP backend, a blank editing window is shown (screenshot attached).

    Strangely enough, editing translations with WPML works, but shows only the WPML editing windows while trying to access the WP editing window shows blank too. I disabled WPML and then the individual translated posts show also blank when trying to edit any of them.

    I can add new GD listings but, as soon as I publish them, the blank editing window shows.

    Standard WP pages and posts can be edited normally.

    I cleared browser and site cache and CDN before each new test.

    I tried other browsers and the problem also happens with them.

    I tried to restore backups from one and two days ago, with the same result. However, until yesterday evening I was editing GD posts without any problem!

    Could you help?

    Hi jotomas,

    Thanks for your post. Could you try deactivating all non-gd plugins and see if it helps? If the issue persists, we would require your WP admin credentials in private reply.

    Have you updated Yoast to version 8?
    If you did, deactivate Yoast, a fix is on the way.

    Hi,

    Thank you very much for your prompt response.

    After deactivating Yoast, editing is now working normally.

    What I can not understand is how I was editing until yesterday late evening without problems, if I applied the Yoast update days before.

    Anyway, now it works! I will wait until the next Yoast update before reactivating it.

    We have fixed Yoast v8.x conflict on backend edit listing pages.

    It will be available in next release.
    You can update patch found here https://github.com/GeoDirectory/geodirectory/pull/471/commits/8e8ad045c1aa6ced3f64f7baec9b49994ffcd44e to your site OR provide us FTP credentials to update patch from our side.

    GD core 1.6.30 should be ready to apply on your site.
    Provide URL and WP admin details if we need to have a look.

    Hi Guust,

    Thank you very much for your reply. Now I notice that the update is already applied and that it its two days old.

    I do not recall to have applied it myself, maybe somebody from your support team did?

    Anyway, I activated Yoast SEO and the problem editing GD posts from the backend does not show any longer. Therefore, problem solved!
