Hello, we customized our fields, add the location add on and multiple cities but when we attempt to add a new Place, after we hit submit, it returns the page with none of the data saved and the default city of Philadelphia, PA. I added a category but don’t see an option to select a category on the new listing page. We also were unable to import any locations.

Your plugins are out of date. Please update them and see if the error persists. If it does write back with FTP so we can delve deeper.

    Hi Robert,

Thanks for your reply. I see the issue now, every listing requires a “Category” as explained here https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/places/categories/place-categories-update/#need-to-know . Could you follow the instructions provided and see if it helps?

Thanks for looking at this but I don’t understand what I did wrong because I have a category called Speech language pathologist, ID 145, and in the sample import I tried and gave you above, I have a column for Categories and have 145 in all of them. Before messaging you I saw the article on importing and tried adding the category ID in the import so I think I have already done this and it still does not save the location correctly on import, each record goes to the default location. Can you see for yourself if you try to import the CSV sample I gave you?

What I see in the file is some columns have a lot of text.

Text fields can only take 254 characters. Try recreating the fields that are to take a lot of text (more than 254 characters) as textareas.
