    Hello,

    if I upload photos from mobile phones (saved by the camera app), the following error message appears within the preview. If I edit and save the same photo by another app, it works. It is independent of the file size. I tested it with Samsung and Huawei mobile phones. Does anyone know a solution?

    Best regards,
    Thomas

    Hello!

    There are couple of possibilities for this error, and they are seemingly unrelated.

    Old Version: Please make sure you a re running the latest versions of WP and GD.

    Cache: Next, please clear your browser cache.

    Browser: Try it with a different browser

    Google API Key: Check your chrome console and make sure you aren’t getting errors for permissions restrictions on your Google Key. If you are, then be sure to address that with a new key, and grab it through GD so it gets all needed permissions associated.

    Still Not Working: Make a private reply with your site URL and Admin credentials and we can take a look. If it is a plugin conflict, we will also need FTP access to diagnose.

    It seems to be something in the geodir_exif() function, it might be a missing exif function on the server.

    I have disabled that function which flips the image if the phone data tells it to by changing this line
    $fixed_file = geodir_exif($_FILES[$imgid . ‘async-upload’]);
    to
    $fixed_file = $_FILES[$imgid . ‘async-upload’];

    This will be remove on the next update but i’ll take a closer look at this on monday.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
