    I am using the option to upload files into the listing form for people to add resumes or for employers to have a longer information sheet viewable.

    Initially I chose for these files to be PDFs.

    Do I need some special code to be able to have these viewable in the listings?

    You want to embed a PDF on the Detail page without having to open the file in a new window or lightbox?
    You may be able to achieve that with your own customization integrating with https://wordpress.org/plugins/pdf-embedder/ so you can use their shortcode in a tab.

    Ideally I would like the file to show in the tabs. And so as far as opening in a new window, I would like to know if it is possible to open in the tabs.

    I would say that is a very bad idea, it going to add extra load times to the page, unless every pdf is very small. The way it works now is it should open in a lightbox (GDv2) which i think is the best solution.

    Sorry, are you saying that the pdf file should show in the side bar and not in the tabs?

    It does not matter where it shows on the detail page, it can be in a tab, sidebar or both.
    They all link to the same file that opens in a lightbox.
