Hi, having a little issue, I link all the adverts on my site to local sites, unfortunately it arose that there is an issue with the older links i’ve placed on them.

Links used to work in 2 ways. For example

    http://www.dottydirectory.com/business/lucyb-home/
    http://www.dottydirectory.com/business/sutton/lucyb-home/

One with the location and one without.

Now only the one WITH the location is working, and all my old links did not have the location.

So all my older links are like “http://www.dottydirectory.com/business/lucyb-home/”, is there a setting that has been deactivated anywhere in GeoDirectory which has stopped them from working?

    Thanks guys.

    Hi,

as far as I know/remember, if you enable the permalinks option “Add location slug in listing urls” the listing will only work with the location in it and this never changed.

I asked to Stiofan to let us know if I remember well or not…

    Thanks for your patience,

Hi Paolo, thank you for looking into this for me. It may of been a glitch/bug but it definitely was working for a while, if it helps the time frame I know it was definitely working was between May 2016 and July 2016.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Permalinks should only work according to the settings, if it did work like that in the past it was not intentional.

If you only have a few broken links you can use a plugin like 301 redirects to manually set them to the correct place or your other option would be to write a function that checks for a 404 page and then tries to redirect the listing to the correct place.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
