I have a Directory with Thousands of dog breeders. Right now I have to upload a new picture for each listing and seeing how we are using stock photos of the dog breeds we have to upload 50 -100 of the same photo. Is there any way to pick from the media library for a listings feature image so I only have to upload an image one and it doesn’t clog up my media library?

Hi,

why not uploading a default picture for each category and avoid adding the featured picture?

That way if each breed is a category, the default category picture will appear as the main thumbnail and picture for each listing in that category.

I think this would be your best solution.

We don’t use the media library, because it creates a post (attachment) for each image you upload and that will be worst for your database.

Great Idea but unforunally they are categorized by breeder, rescue, vet, and pet store not by breed.

I still have the issue. Any other ideas on how I can go about this?

I have not tested this, but what about
* upload the images to the current month’s upload folder
* export your listings
* add a reference to the images
* re-import
I would think that should work, ie multiple listings can link to the same image that way.
