Users can´t choose own password

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    Hi,
    I want my users to be able to choose their own password so in the geodirectory menu I have said yes to “Allow users to choose own password”. But it is not working.
    The system still sends out new passwords… so that they can not choose themselvs…

    What am I missing?

    It looks like you are not allowing registrations, so people cannot register, and definitely will not be able to choose a password.

    Okay, so it is not possible to let users that are all ready registered choose a new password when they have forgotten their password?

    Not from the frontend, or everybody can do that. It needs to go through the email system to make sure only the correct user can change the password.

    Hi,

    actually they can, with the option enabled, in the register form users should see the enter password and repeat password fields.

    What’s strange is that on your website I don’t see the registration form at all:

    Are you using buddypress and the buddypress integration plugin or have you customized the registration page?

    Where do your users register?
