    Hi,

How do I fulfill the legal request to show European Union VAT Tax of 15% when selling a Listing Package to a local Business? In case of a sale to another EU country, the Tax should not apply as long as the Buyer is VAT regsitred.

    Thanks for help / feedback

    Best wishes

    Hi Georges,

In this type of business all your sales would be B2B so in theory tax should not apply.
If somehow it’s not the case then most EU countries have a scheme where you can opt in to pay a fixed rate on all sales which you could roll into the price of your packages.

With these new rules it also depends on what you say you are selling to a customer, sometimes the rules are confusing, for example if you supply a PDF electronically by automatic means then the rules apply but if you manually email it then the rules don’t apply.

Our new payment manager (soon to be released) has had hooks and filters added so that in future a tax manager can be developed and added in easily but this will take some time.

You should seek proper advice to what applies to what exactly you are selling and if it is all B2B, then place a note about it in your T&C’s to keep yourself right.

If enough people are selling B2C then we will make the appropriate changes to our system.

    Let us know your thoughts.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

    Hi Stiofan,

    thanks for your quick feedback.
I re-check with my Accountant. The situation is that my business is VAT Registred, means I have an official VAT nr. – and going for a Flat rate is not an option for me.

When I sell in my country B2B & B2C, I need to show 17% VAT on my invoice.
When I sell to another EU country B2B, I do not add VAT on invoice, but I MUST show customers “VAT Registration Number” on my invoice and I need to make sure that it is a the valid and correct VAT Nr.

While looking for a solution, I found this website to get a developer friendly API:
    http://vatapi.com/

Do you see any possibility to use this kind of VAT API service (even payable) in combination with some wpgeodirectory customizing.

    Thanks for your feedback

    Have a good day
    Georges

    Hi,

When can the updated Payment Manager/Tax manager for VAT be expected? Requirements: show on invoice VAT numbers (seller+customer) and VAT rate (0% or home country %).

It would be even cooler if the VAT entry is automatically verified on eg. VatCheck.eu to avoid wrongful entries.

    Thanks!
