If you click on a vendor category, and then click on a listing ON THE MAP, and click on its pop-up to open its listing, then you click on another vendor category from the main nav dropdown it’ll confine those results to the city of the last map listing to clicked on.
January 16, 2017 at 6:27 pm #343689Hi Matt,
Thanks for the explanation. Unfortunately, I’m not really sure how to replicate this issue as it seems to work fine when I switch “Vendor Categories” using the “Navigation Menu”. Perhaps you could record a short screencast that demonstrates this? Use this tool for your recording http://screencast-o-matic.com/
Thanks!
February 13, 2017 at 3:09 pm #361157Here is an example of how I get the issue.
From the main Nav, hover over Vendors and choose Floral (It will read “All Floral”)
Then Choose a vendor (I used Schmidt’s Flowers & Accessories as my choice)
Next I drop down the Vendor Tab and Chose “Cakes & Sweets”
At this point it is saving the location and reads “All Cakes & Sweets in Williamsburg”This location shouldn’t become cached or saved. The only way it clears is if I click vendors and then choose the category.

February 13, 2017 at 5:39 pm #361209wont let me post video here, I hope the explanation helps.
I also have a screenshot and link to a page that has the issue
http://hrweddingguide.com/vendors/united-states/virginia/williamsburg/cakes-sweets-1/all new vendor categories I go to will now have virginia/williamsburg unless I click back on Vendors, but I don’t want this to happen if someone is hopping from different vendor categories
February 13, 2017 at 9:53 pm #361273Hi,
that’s normal behavior, once the location is set, all links are filtered by that location unless you clear the location by clicking vendor, or by adding the location switcher somewhere on your website.
That will make everything clearer.
Thanks
February 14, 2017 at 12:19 am #361316I want to disable this feature completely. It is very confusing and the user experience is undesirable.
February 14, 2017 at 2:09 pm #361432As far as I know, there is no option to disable it.
I asked to the developers to confirm or let us know in case they think something can be done.
Thanks
February 15, 2017 at 5:38 pm #361791Thank you, please let me know the solution. I do not want the user to be locked into a location just because they are browsing vendors. The results are then limited or nill because of this and I just want all vendors to show if someone is just browsing around. This is not based on any location search to begin with so it is very confusing, rather it occurs just because someone clicks on a vendor from a broad category list, nothing to do with location.
February 15, 2017 at 5:43 pm #361794HI,
the only solution I see is that you add the Location Switcher in your menu, that way users won’t feel locked, instead it will be clear that they are browsing listings of 1 location.
If they want to browse listings of all locations, they have the switcher to go back.
Thanks
February 15, 2017 at 6:32 pm #361820Could you guide me to what this is, how to implement it? I don’t see it in the widgets, and would like to add it there.
Thank youFebruary 15, 2017 at 9:33 pm #361867Please see: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/multilocations/#main
