    Hi,

The video embed code entered in the front end (Text Area) does not appear.

It appears only when the video embed code is entered in the Back End only. This was a problem in the GDF and also continues in Supreme.

Hope in the version of Supreme 0.3.0, this is resolved.

    Thanks and rgds,

    gsr

This is a problem with the GD core plugin and already fixed in the next update.

    Oops, I was wrong.

The reason that happens is because of a modsecurity rule, you can ask your host to disable it or you can simply ask your customers to enter just the URL of the video, without the embed code.

    Hi Guust,

If the URL of the video is to be given, I suppose, then the custom field has to be changed to URL field instead of the TEXT AREA field.
If the URL is given, then the video will open in a separate Tab of You Tube. If this happens, the visitors may move away from our site. I would rather prefer the video code embeded so that they can view the video within the site.

Right? Your views would be appreciated.

According to you, the problem could be resolved by taking up the matter with the hosting provider?

The video field is a special field, it is not just a text field, but it just looks like that.

Just enter the URL and you ll see it works. It will not work in the preview but it will work in the final listing.
The video will still be embedded, just test it

    Hi,

I have added the URL of the video in the text area and in the front end (not the preview) the URL only appears and that too without any hyperlink.

The video does not embed with just the URL.

Once you edit from the front end, the Embed codes gets stripeed off. I had to go back to the back- end and re-embed the code.

That is because you created your own video field.
Only the special ready-made GD video field will take embed code from the frontend, and only when the modsecurity rule is turned off.

    Hi,

The Text Area for Video should work in the same fashion, because the default video field also uses the Text Area Custom field. This is my logic.

The video field is a special field, it is not just a text field, but it just looks like that.

It is specially coded because WP normally does not allow iframes in a custom field, so I know that is not logic, but that is how it works.
