    Hiya

My client has requested that we add the ability to attach a custom badge as an overlay on the images of a business listing. I have added a couple of screen captures as a demo.

The badge that will be overlaying the images will be selected based on the business type the listing owner selects in their listing. In our case we have four type of business listings. We want the badge to be selected based on the business type.

In the one image you can see a field in the edit listing page called IChooseSA Business Type. Whatever gets selected here will be placed as an image that overlays the images. I don’t care if the badge has to be somewhere else, as long as it is prominent on the Business (Place) listing.

Both of the images I have attached will give an example of what we want.

I would appreciate any help I can get on this.

    Hi Kelly Noble,

Thanks for your post. Could you try inserting some badges first, then, try the method from this section of the documentation https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/design/gd-badge/#badge-classes

    Thanks!

I am sorry Kor but I don’t know where I could insert the badge. I am trying to setup a badge in Custom Fields without success. I have tried adding a badge in the Tabs, but I cannot see it on a listing.

Basically all I want is for a badge to appear that announces what type of business it is based on what the listing owner puts in a certain field. I have added this code in a field under business tabs under Tabs

    [gd_post_badge key=”business_type” condition=”is_equal” search=”SA Owned & Operated Business” badge=”SA Owned & Operated Business” bg_color=”#0073aa” txt_color=”#ffffff”]

I obviously do not know what I am doing 🙁

You need to add the badge element to the GD Detail template page, then adjust the CSS to make it position where you want it.

    Thanks

If I understand it correctly the image you posted is of a ‘mini listing’ which we call the “Archive Item” and to add a badge to that you want to edit the Archive Item template.

This doc will introduce you with that template and how to edit it:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/templates/archive-item/

The main “Profile” page is called the “Details template”.
