In the listing form, the requirement for http/https sometimes causes confusion. Can we force to include ‘http’ in this field as pre-populated text?

On second thought…never mind, this is not a good practice.

Generally speaking, and there is probably some WW3 consortium policy written somewhere, http is ‘the’ protocol, and it is up to the site owner to redirect http to https. Generally speaking, of course.

In practice, and to the benefit of site owners in most cases, most hosts are familiar with the rewrite rules needed, and some even add them ‘automagically’ behind the scenes.

So, ‘http://’ as the first string for a URL is not a ‘bad’ idea. It is a sign of the times, so to speak. In a perfect world of tomorrow there would be invisible security that would not require the https at all, and everything would just ‘be secure’.
