    Hi guys,

During the last year, on a monthly basis I run Google speed test for my website: https://thebeautyadviser.com . The score for my mobile version used to be above 80 points each and every time.

After the last update, my scoring has dropped to 33 points. I run the test daily in the last 5 days, I thought it might be a mistake, but everytime I get the same result.

I did not do anything new on my website besides the regular updates.

This worries me a lot. Can you please take a look when you have the time?

    Thank you!
    Vlad

    Hi Vlad,

I see lots of the GD booster css/js are taking over 1 second to load each, do you have a CDN you can add to the settings, this would reduce things a lot.

Other than than we changed from the CSS to the JS version of Font Awesome which google might be counting as a longer paint time.

    Hi Stiofan,

Excuse me please, but I do not understand the first part.

Either way, what is it to be done so I can go back to my 80 points results in speed tests?

    thanks,
    Vlad

GD Booster will be retired soon, and we recommend you seek out a different cache solution.

We have instructions for the setup of WP Super Cache for use with GDV1.

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/wp-super-cache/

GDV2 should work with any cache plugin.

GD Is optimized to make it easy for new visitors to add their listings and make a payment. To make that work optimally, GD Booster was developed for GDV1, but new advances have made it possible to do this with other cache plugins with V2.

Regarding Stiofan’s earlier comment about a CDN, GD Booster does include CDN support. You will need an account to use it. You can find the options inside the GD Booster settings under “CDN”.

    Hope that helps

    Hi Alex,

thank you for your time to reply.

I cannot use WP Super Cache – it is on a plugin black list (forbidden) of GoDaddy – my hosting provider.

    Questions:
#1. The only option to regain my website speed is making a CDN account?
#2. If I make a CDN account and if you will retire GD Booster, will this work anyway?
#3. When will you release the full GDV2 version (not the BETA)?
#4. When you’ll release GDV2, will there be a transition tool from GDV1 to GDV2 so that our websites remain unaffected?

    Thanks,
    Vlad

    1. No, but we are not website speed support, we are support for WPGeoDirectory. A CDN is what was identified as a possible solution.
    2. Yes, but you will need a different plugin to use it; there are a wide variety of them available on wp.org
    3. This is not known at this time, but we are just finishing up making the most important addons compatible.
    4. There already is a conversion tool; some manual configuration will be needed, but how much is determined by how complicated the site is with V1.

    Thanks Alex!

regarding Q #1 -> I totally understand what kind of support you are. Still, the last plugin update seems to have affected my website speed dramatically. This update is GD’s update, and that, in my mind, makes it GD’s type of support.

Meanwhile, after the last update, I have more than 8/9 seconds loading time for my website. What should I tell my clients, since it is not my fault?!?

    Hi Vlad,

The only thing that would affect the score that much might be the font awesome change, we are adding settings that will be in the next release so you will be able to set it back to how it was if you prefer.

This will be released as soon as its ready.
