My site totally crashed and I cannot install the GeoDirectory plugin. My membership is for all themes and plugins and now my entire site doesn’t work. I’ve talked to my hosting company and after spending hours and hours trying to resolve the issues, they said that there is something wrong with the GeoDirectory plugin and for me to contact you guys.
here is the error message I get when trying to activate GeoDirectory.
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home1/planetxp/public_html/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory-functions/helper_functions.php on line 831May 16, 2017 at 3:58 am #378494Please post your URL and WP admin details in a private reply so we can review your settings. Thanks

I’m sorry about that, but that file hasn’t been changed in the last 2 months and no other member reported this problem:
https://github.com/GeoDirectory/geodirectory/blob/master/geodirectory-functions/helper_functions.php
It looks like the update didn’t complete correctly and the file got truncated, I’d try to reupload GeoDirectory latest version (to make sure it works fine I’d do it via FTP)
I’m getting this error when trying to access your website:
Invalid email address. Lost your password?
It would be better if you could provide ftp credentials too in case we need to overwrite any file.
Let us know,
Thanks
May 18, 2017 at 1:08 pm #378945Hi Brent, i take it you got this resolved on your own?
If not it might be that your PHP version is older than the GD requirement of 5.3

May 25, 2017 at 11:44 am #379996Not sure what is going on because I can’t get into the site either. It was hacked into because of some vulnerabilities in the theme, and now I’ve been contacted via Envato saying that there is issues with your theme. I am trying to get back into the site and will send you the login credentials when I can get back in.

May 25, 2017 at 12:46 pm #380008Hi Brent,
I did see there were some security updates for some of the big envato themes.
Your server is running PHP Version 5.2.17, WordPress requires 5.2.4+, GD requires at least 5.3+ and running such an old version of PHP can leave you vulnerable to old exploits if not patched.
I would recommend you update PHP to at least 5.6+ but PHP 7 would be best and it will also speed up your site.
Let us know once you have updated your PHP version and then try installing GD, if you have any problems then just let us know.
Thanks,
Stiofan

May 25, 2017 at 10:34 pm #380125Bluehost tech support said that they updated the PhP to 5.6. I’ll contact them back and see if I can get them to update it to PhP 7. I don’t know how to do that. I don’t know what is up with the SSL certificate. It should still be good for at least 6 more months.
May 26, 2017 at 12:26 pm #380181SSL: Expires On Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 12:59:59 AM
If you had a free SSL sometimes they only issue them for a few months instead of a year.
