I purchased Whoop theme and 2 addons on TT during the Black Friday sale but I’m unable to access the Whoop forum. I did sync my account after purchase and again today but still no access. Please help me fix this problem.

I keep getting: You must purchases a membership to access that forum. Buy here

    Thanks

I have Whoop theme installed. In WP admin > GD Directory I added the title and description for my site and in the SERPs (Google) I see the title with “GD Home page” appended to the end of the title and the description is not displaying.

Could you tell me how to remove GD Home page and ensure that the description displays in the SERPs?

    Thanks

Go to GD > Titles and Meta > and adjust the meta page settings. Or go to WP admin > Pages > GD Home Page and change the title of the page.
Is GD Home set as the homepage at both GD > Permalinks and Settings > Reading?
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#home

The meta description should be 160 characters max, and then it is up to Google I guess.

    Hi,

I see that the other 2 add-ons did sync. I’ll ask to Stiofan why Whoop didn’t, it is the last product we added, so we must have forgot something.

We’ll keep you posted. Thanks for the heads up and your patience!

    1. Whoop forum access: YES

    Thanks for your quick help

    2. Metatags: title and description

@guust: I did have all of your setting in place. I only had to change “GD Home page” title to another name and it’s displaying in FF browser tab. The problem is that the description isn’t displaying the 150 characters I had in it. Instead, it shows:

    <meta property=”og:description” content=”                      ” />

FYI: I do have WPSEO activated. I went into WPSEO and added description in content area since GD pulls content from WPSEO. It will take a few days for the SERPs to reflect the changes but if I have problems then I’ll be sure to notify you.

Request: Could you move this support thread to Whoop theme now that I have access to it?

Thanks again. You guys are AWESOME.

GD Titles and Meta does not work if you are using WPSEO, see note on that page at /wp-admin/admin.php?page=geodirectory&tab=title_meta_settings

Let me know if I can set this as resolved. Any new issues can be opened in a new topic.

    1. You state that GD titles and metas don’t work if WPSEO is activated. Does this mean than GD is already seo optimized so that WPSEO isn’t needed?

    2. I thought GD encouraged WPSEO

    GD displays:

Please use the WPSEO settings instead.
    Available Variables – %%title%%, %%sitename%%, %%sitedesc%%, %%excerpt%%, %%pt_single%%, %%pt_plural%%, %%category%%, %%id%%, %%sep%%, %%location%%, %%in_location%%, %%in_location_single%%, %%location_single%%, %%search_term%%, %%search_near%%, %%name%%

I added words in the GD title and meta description instead of variables. If I deactivate WPSEO will these words appear in the SERPs?

    Thanks

    Thanks a lot

WPSEO is a very popular plugin so we always try to make sure there is no conflicts with it. But WPSEO does not work for all types of GD pages, so we made sure that you can add meta descriptions to all pages easily.

What appears in the SERPS is up to the search engines. But if you look at the source of a page, and you can see the meta description there, then the search engines can see it too.
