@purpleedge
The map will zoom if you use the plus and minus icons.
It should now also zoom on mouse-scroll.
This is one for Vikas to consider.June 14, 2014 at 1:51 am #4227Hi Guust, it works OK on your site, where the listings are closer together, and I think it will work OK on my site where the distances are even less! So it’s probably not an issue for me.
June 16, 2014 at 2:02 pm #4338My wishlist would be paid memberships pro support – I understand that the payment module supports a lot of the features already, however as stiofan pointed out in another post, they have looked at other best practice plugins like bbpress and buddypress. Why reinvent the wheel when pmp does such a good job?
June 16, 2014 at 10:42 pm #4388Correct me if I’m wrong, but Paid membership wouldn’t allow you to pay for a single listing and it wouldn’t allow to restrict GD elements in add listing forms.
I don’t think that even a tight integration of any membership plugn would really allow to do without pricing and payments.
June 16, 2014 at 11:40 pm #4409Feature Requests:
1. Custom map markers to differentiate featured listings from basic listings (e.g. featured listings get a larger map icon)
2. Option to add additional fields on listing contact form (e.g., using it as a price quote form)
3. Option to restrict file types when using the upload file custom field (e.g. pdf only)June 17, 2014 at 1:37 am #4424@Desti Neo: membership plugins are for charging a fee to view parts of your website, which is no use for GD, because it needs to charge for a custom post (a listing).
Unless you need to close some of the site to the general public, you do not need a membership plugin. Otherwise you can use s2member and probably some others with a few tweaks, but it would not provide any extra functionality to GD.June 17, 2014 at 6:56 am #4445You are right, PMP may not be the ideal choice, although single item purchases are possible: http://www.paidmembershipspro.com/add-ons/plugins-on-github/pmpro-purchase-access-to-a-single-page/
I still stand by my suggestion though to work out payments through a 3rd party plugin which will also allow integration of new gateways easier, e.g. through EDD or WC.
PS: please remove the captcha for logged in users (that will be my signature until it’s gone…)
June 17, 2014 at 4:30 pm #4536Hi,
that allows a visitor to pay in order to visit 1 page’s content.
Not to submit a new listing in the directory.
Pricing and Payments is full of hooks and filters and can be extended with new payment gateways. We are currently developing Stripe and other will come from us soon. At the same time I’m confident soon we will see 3rd party developed payment gateway extensions for GeoDirectory Price and Payments addon.
You are free to use a 3rd party plugin if you wish to do so, but you will have to customize it yourself or have it customized by a 3rd party developer. Unless a great number of members make the same request, in that case only, we would look into it.
Captcha is automatically removed only for paying members.
Because the Forum for the core plugin is public and anyone registered can post new topics and replies, we don’t want to get flooded with spam.
Please remove it from your signature because it is not going to happen.
Thanks
June 22, 2014 at 1:34 pm #5557hi there,
on my whishlist :
– a ‘map’ custom field in order to display specific spots in one “place” (say if my place is for instance an hotel, i wish i coud display places like ‘monuments, parking, bank, restaurants, etc. nearby’)
– the possibility to show different custom post types on one map : if you can’t do that, having different CPT in your directory looses great interest to me…
June 22, 2014 at 4:14 pm #5569Another +1 for shortcodes
road map would be greatJune 23, 2014 at 1:40 pm #5674Markers for each CPT
Featured Post Markers for each category
Homepage options with no map displayed e.g. slider
Search Form Code Shortcode to add to static pages
Search everywhere for everything without having to select CPT
Shortcodes for static pages to add categories, listings etc
Show CPT’s on Map e.g. hotels, bars
Custom google Maps – see snazzymaps
Option to Use Static Pages for Add Listings, All Listings, HomeJune 23, 2014 at 7:06 pm #5747I think we could consider creating an addon to show all CPT in one map to allow people to add it only if they think it’s necessary.
This because anyone with more than few hundreds listing per CPT could see their map loading become slow if they weren’t using a very powerful server.
Even if optimize the queries to the last bit, a query returning several thousands results from multiple CPT, will always be very resource hungry and long in execution time.
For the 1st request, I guess you are talking about a “In the neighbourhood” widget to show nearby places when visiting an hotel page, similar to what GeoTheme does?
Thx
June 23, 2014 at 8:50 pm #5769I would like to have a Universal Search feature on GD. Users should be able to search for custom post types, blog articles and locations with just one search box.
And for directories that only have one custom post type with 1 or zero category, a location search box should be enough. For example, a directory of house cleaners – users just need a location search box to find house cleaners in their local area. It will be nice to have a booking system for each listing.
June 24, 2014 at 3:34 am #5832This reply has been marked as private.June 24, 2014 at 3:51 am #5833Would like to have as much of the GD settings integrated directly into the default WP areas as possible.
A specific example, but there may be more:
Navigation is setup under Geodirectory > Design > Navigation
rather than (or in combination with) the regular WP Appearance > MenusI could be mistaken, but I also think when I turned on the GDF theme, it became even more confusing with separate sections for Geodirectory, GDF, the regular WP menus, and in some cases there may be multiple configuration settings that may either override one another or at the very least, seem like they could/should all reside under menu area.
