Have done the troubleshooting and with GD as only plugin installed, WP version tracking is disabled.
Any other plugins or no plugins (without GD) pages show versions as expected. it also messes with the count as all edits/saves made while GD active = 0 when GD is disabled.Same on webserver and localhost installs.
Login available with pvt reply.
January 14, 2016 at 8:38 am #68320That is the first time I have heard or seen that WP version gets disabled.
Do you mean that your site does not know what WP version it is using at /wp-admin/update-core.phpPlease provide credentials and we will have a look.

And with GD it is gone. Without GD, is there. Feel free to disable any plugins to troubleshoot.
January 16, 2016 at 2:54 pm #68944OK thanks for the info, we disable them by default to save space in the DB, in our early tests we seen that having them enabled could add lots of unnecessary posts to the DB of a directory site so took this action. If you want them enabled simply add this line to your wp-config.php file
define('WP_POST_REVISIONS', true );You can then enable/disable post revisions on GD post types via the CPT addon.
Let me know if you have any problems,
Thanks,
Stiofan

GD>Custom Post Types>Edit>Revisions – allow for post content (not custom fields) revisions to be stored (not recommended).
Tick that, then check.Stiofan
January 18, 2016 at 7:29 pm #69248Building site theme from scratch with team working on different local hosts and a hosted server. Requires page/post revisions for pages not related to GD. We simply must have a go-back button or lose too much time.
Having said that… The server (you have access to) has the suggested define> wp-config.php entries and the plugins have been deactivated and restarted for good measure. We have also restarted servers when we can. We do not see the option you mention.
Attached is the screen shot from GD>Custom Post Types>Edit>Revisions – allow for post content
The element to tick Revisions is not there. If we disable GD, we can make and keep revisions but cannot use GD.
On production we intend to delete revisions.
