Hello Everyone,
I have attached a .zip file (hopefully) this is a plugin that you can install that will help X compatibility, please test and report any bugs.
Thanks,
Stiofan
June 27, 2014 at 3:10 pm #6496Stiofan, it’s good, but Im going to report a few bugs:
– Home: OK
– Profile:
– bottom widget showing between image slider and info box;
– search bar is weird, it should be great as in GD theme.any idea when you’ll fix it? or how to do so?
thanks!! =)
June 29, 2014 at 12:09 am #6661can we expect the issues to be resolved?
thanks man, a lot!!
July 1, 2014 at 4:01 pm #6998After a brief first test, it works up to a point, but the page layout is not being respected fully.
GD shows full width, regardless of the global or individual page settings. This may be because of GD generating virtual pages, of course, but not all sites will want or suit a full width directory, especially on larger screens.
July 1, 2014 at 4:08 pm #7000I just copied the homepage code, i will be doing a tutorial soon on how to exploit this all to it’s full potential
Thanks,
Stiofan
July 1, 2014 at 4:47 pm #7005Will you take a look at the issues I pointed out before, Stiofan? They are critical for the beauty and usability of sites using X and GD.
July 2, 2014 at 4:17 pm #7244An update –
It seems many things are broken in Firefox 30.0, the biggest of which is that maps don’t display at all, and the image slider on the listing detail page also fails to load. Images do display okay on the images tab.
All these things work perfectly in Chrome. Also tried in FF Safe Mode, with no improvement. I don’t think it’s a theme issue, as such, as there are no problems with any other plugins.
I first thought that it might be a jquery conflict, but everything working in Chrome seems to rule that out.
July 2, 2014 at 5:29 pm #7261And more, but I’m not sure if these are theme bugs or – as seems more likely with some of them – general issues.
If it’s determined these aren’t theme issues, I’ll repost elsewhere –
The Add Listing (whether from the dashboard or menu) simply loads the details page of the first listing.
The “Latest Places” are squashed into the right section on every page. Is there any way to move these? It seems an odd place to put recent listings. At least to me.
Setting the Content and Right/Left widths does nothing. The widths seem to stay at the defaults.
Speaking of the Left (and Bottom) sections. What exactly do they do? Enabling them makes no difference.
Disabling the Right Section just leave a gap where it used to be. Is this correct?
It might be prudent to add that I don’t use the directory as the home page, and won’t be doing so.
If someone wants to take a look at the front or back end, just ask.
Sorry to be a pain.
July 2, 2014 at 5:43 pm #7264Okay, I’m clearly an idiot.
I hadn’t realised (that’s the “idiot” bit) that there are sidebars and widgets for almost everything. It wasn’t until I went to put a shortcode in a Text widget for something else that I saw all the additions made by GD
I can build the layout that way on custom pages. At least I’m assuming so without yet doing it. I’m not sure this will fix the add listing issue above, but let me come back to you on that.
/me kicks himself
July 4, 2014 at 2:33 pm #7449Right then, ignoring what I posted before I discovered the widgets, here’s what I have –
I haven’t had the same issues as leandororosa, but simply because I’m not using GD in the same way, so I can’t comment on those.
1. I’ve actually found no issues with the styling to speak of, at least not in getting it to show how I want it to, but I think there is a jQuery or other javascript conflict somewhere which only shows itself on the Detail page.
When viewing a listing detail, the image slideshow doesn’t load, showing just a constantly spinning loader image. The images are there on the image tab.
The map tab shows a vague map of Europe, but is unresponsive and again just shows the spinning loader gif. Adding a GMap widget also fails to load, although I do see the container for this map, which I don’t with the slider.
2. Also, when on the details page, all drop down menus stop working, possibly as a result of the same javascript problem.
3. The Dashboard in the right section stops functioning or even displaying properly on the details page. It’s fine on all other pages.
4. The Add-Listing (or event) page doesn’t load. All I get is the first entry for the category into which I’m trying to add a listing.
As you can see, the details page is where most of the problems arise. Point 4 is probably not a theme issue. If it’s established that it’s a general bug, I’ll re-post in the correct forum.
Site/admin access can be made available, if necessary
Cheers
Paul
