If you are upgrading from GD Payments Manager V1 to V2 you are required to carry out some additional steps. Our new free plugin WP Invoicing will now be required to take payment and the GD payment manager will still handle the price packages and restrictions. ( You can find out more about WP Invoicing here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/wp-invoicing/ )

GD Payment Manager V2+ Install instructions

Payment Gateway Settings

WP Invoicing has its own gateway plugins which are available in your download area, not all come pre installed, this means less code has to run and only the gateways you use will need to be installed.

  1. Payment Gateway Settings: For a quicker upgrade, take a note of any of your active payment gateways settings, this will allow you to copy them over quickly.
  2. Stripe: For gateways like Stripe you will have to update the notification url in your settings on stripe.com

Installing Payment Manager V2

You will have to manually install the plugin which is available from your downloads area, this can be done in 3 ways:

  1. FTP: You can upload (overwriting) the current files on your server.
  2. Plugin: You can use this plugin to allow you to upload the new zip file and install the update
  3. Delete + Install: You can also just delete the payments manager V1 and then install the V2 via the zip file (least recommended)

Installing WP Invoicing

You can download WP Invoicing from here: wpinvoicing.com, you will find additional payment gateways in your download area under the payment manager.

WPI has it’s own documentation for installing which you can find here https://wpinvoicing.com/docs/category/getting-started/

You should:

  • Install WP Invoicing
  • Install any extra gateways needed
  • Setup WP Invoicing by following the setup instructions
  • The conversion of price packages and invoices should be automatic, if you have any problems you have use the conversion tool under: Invoicing>Settings>Tools

If you have any problems with GD Payment Manager please post on the GD Payment Manager forums
If you have any problems with WP Invoicing please post on the WP Invoicing forums (your GD login details will also work here)

  1. Can you quickly explain the feature behind the WP Invoicing with WPGeodirectory and not GD Payments? Is it just deferred payments? I am assuming this is not for multivendors within the GeoDirectory?

    • None, without GD payments, GeoDirectory and Invoicing are completely independent from each other.
In the future we will certainly use it to charge for Ads.
      Thanks

  2. I am looking in my downloads area, and do not see GD Payments, at all. The only plugins, with Payment Manager in the filenames, are:
    PayFast Payment Gateway
    SagePay Payment Gateway
    Stripe Payment Gateway

Those would appear to be add-ons, which I would use with WP Invoicing, if I wanted to use any of those gateways. I am using PayPal, and don’t see an add-on for that. Maybe it is included in WP Invoicing. But, I still don’t see GD Payments v2 (or any version, for that matter).

  3. Hey there!
In a future will The Payment Manager V2 still be included in the GD Membership?
Also how can i keep charging over Stripe etc?
And if i now delete the old Payment manager, will the Other Payment Gateways still work, or just disappear?

    Thanks a million!

    • Hi,

yes we will include every current add-on for WP Invoicing too to all GD Members except Paypal Pro and all new add-ons that we will develop in the future.

Yes just install the Stripe add-on for WPI.

You need to remove all old add-ons and install the add-ons for WP Invoicing.

      Thanks

  4. We don’t take payments, we just use the prices option to track different levels of memberships and send out reminders when renewals are due. This seems like a lot of trouble and one more plugin to maintain. Can we stay with the older version if we don’t care about payment gateways? Will notifications for expiration dates still work okay without the new Invoicing plugin?

    • Hi,

I’m sorry but soon it will become a requirement. It’s better if you take the 5 minutes required to update it.

      Thanks

  5. I need a recurring payment option and with existing payment bolt on option, it is only available through paypal or 2checkout. Does v2 have payment gateways that allow for recurring payments to be setup?

  6. I see that “Pricing Manager” as it is referred is called “geodir_payment_manager.zip”. As a professional Communication advisor and graphic designer, I would strongly advise that all reference to downloadable material be consistent. Inconsistency will lose you clients, if its called Payment Manager, then call it Payment Manager, not pricing manager. If it is referenced as GD Payment manger, then call the Zip file GD Payment manger. Hard enough to make sense of your system without everyone calling the same file 3 different names. That goes for every single one of your downloads, thank you.

    • Hi,

we are transitioning from a plugin that would handle pricing and payments (old payment manager) to a plugin that only handle pricing and the Invoicing plugin to manage payments.

We are aware of this and once everyone has switched to the new Pricing manger, we’ll be able to change the folder name too.

      Thanks
