Cost to Force Payment on Claimed Listing

    Claimed listings will become free even if it’s added under a paid listing package which I think makes it useless if directory owners doesn’t offer free listings.

    You can try creating a listing with very limited information and let claimants upgrade to a paid package but this can be abused by claimants who will simply add their contact information (URL and phone number) in the listing title, description, profile image and tags.

    One way we can resolve this is an admin option to force payments on claimed listings. May I request developers here to provide a quote to have this done?

    If you’re a directory owner, are you willing to chip in to have this done?

    Manilaboy, thinking outside the box.
    Why don’t you just add a PayPal button to the “Claim listing verification required” email you send.
    GD > Claim Listings > Notifications > Claim listing verification required

    Haven’t tested it, but can’t see why it would not work …

    I was just thinking some PP button to ask the same price as your bottom price package. Just replace the Verify link with that. But then you don’t know who has paid for what.
    But the current Verify listing knows what listing is being claimed, so maybe somebody knows how to put a PP operation in between.

    Just thinking … somebody smarter than me might read this and join the dots …

    The admin can just disable the free listing package and let claimants select from paid packages.

    Just checking if someone is willing to give a quote on forcing payments on claimed listings. I have a few pending GD sites that need this option.

    Manilaboy, I am not that clever as the rest of the team, but I am good at thinking outside the box.
    What about using a membership plugin, and it costs the same price to join as it is to submit a basic listing.
    You can then set your basic listing to free.
    So claiming a listing would be the same price as submitting a listing …

    Just thinking … as I do …

    Thank you, Guust. I get your point. I am still looking forward to a quote from developers might see this thread.

    Anyway, one thing I can think of as an alternative is to have an admin option to limit or completely disable listing description and tags on free packages and only allow listing title and address and probably 1 image.

    Or have an admin option to limit to zero the description and tag character and prompt the user to upgrade to one of the paid packages.

    Did someone already submitted a similar request?
