is anyone using X Theme, which i hear is compatible with geodirectory?

i looked at the demos over at themeforest but so far nothing is really grabbing me to build a business directory on

they say it’s super versatile, and it surely seems so, but if anyone has a directory built on it, would love to get an idea

    thanks

    wow, outstanding!

regarding the customizations, do you mean that you modded the theme core, or do you mean that you used the theme as-is but changed the pics, rearranged stuff (but within the x theme system)?

what i mean is can you update the theme core straightaway or do you need to re-hack the files once you do a theme upgrade?

really really great site, congrats 🙂

Thanks for the kind words. That’s the reaction I’m always hoping for! 🙂

I’m using the Integrity stack of X Theme and used the Integrity Light child theme to make all my customizations so upgrading X core won’t hurt anything.

As a graphic designer by trade, I knew what I wanted the site to look like and it took a lot of customizing (both X and GD) to get it exactly how I wanted it, however, X and GD work well together right out of the box and I would highly recommend both to anyone!

btw, on the gd pages, are you able to add elements through the Cornerstone Page Builder?

meaning, what i’m finding with my porto theme so far is that the theme header and footer are there, but if i try to add something to a gd page using the Visual Composer tool (similiar to Cornerstone), then that VC-added content does not diaplay on the gd pages

it’s as if the “hook” (for lack of a better term) for the visual composer content is not included in the gd pages

(i hope i’ve explained this well enough)

if you are able to add stuff to gd pages using the cornerstone page builder, i might switch to x theme, though i love porto 🙂

    thanks

i figured it out, create the desired content as a “block” and then add it as a widget

    got it

can stay with my porto theme

    hope this helps everyone
