Geo 1280 – remove / hide homepage title?

Hi, i’m trying to work out how to hide the page title for the homepage only with the Geo 1280 theme.
I tried adding this:
.main-page-title {
display: none }
but that removes the title from all pages, which I definitely don’t want. I want google to still read the title as h1, but I don’t want the title actually displayed on the page. Is there a way to do this?
