i originally set my homepage to use the GD-Home page
settings > reading > front page displays > a static page > GD-Home
at this point, i could play with the GD widgets to display my listings in the main body, not display the big map, but also have the expected right side bar
so far, so good
however, in the GD options, i enabled “Show geodirectory navigation in selected menu locations” in the main menu, but it did not display – i tried all kinds of combinations, but no luck, not the location switcher, not the add listing, nothing
then, in the following thread where Guust explains what the Location page is for (thank you Guust):
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/what-is-location-page/
there are instructions on how to dynamically set your homepage to use the gd homepage:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-design/#home
HOME TOP SECTION SETTINGS
Geodirectory home page:
This option will dynamically set your website’s home page to use the GeoDirectory home page.
If using GD for the homepage of your site, make sure to set WP Admin > Settings > Reading > Front page displays > Your latest posts > YES
Home top section:
This will enable and show the Home Top Section widget area, this is a full page width area on your homepage that is good for things like maps and search bars.
okay, so i went back to the permalinks and changed from the static gd-home page to the latest posts
then, shazam, the gd menu items showed up in my main menu
however, now the new home page does not show my list of gd categories, gd listings, or the gd sidebar – instead, it shows some regular posts/articles
i’ve tried to play with various things to get the categories, listings, and gd sidebar back the same as it was in gd-home, but no luck
i’d like to display the gd-menu stuff but how do i get my gd-categories, gd-listings, and gd-sidebar back and all the widgets and stuff i had before?
been reading the docs but i admit i’m not getting it, my apology
thanks
