Hello I am finding an issue with my GD Search and Geolocation. I will send my site info in the next post.
When I type in a search, let’s say “Zoo”, when I click on “Near: me” and Search, I get an error message – it’s just a plain popup box that says “Error” and when I click “OK” the search results then load.
Also even though I’ve already granted Geolocation permission I keep being prompted to allow location.
Thank you.

Let us know,
Thanks
February 24, 2016 at 8:52 pm #127318The browser not saving the GeoLocation settings might explain part of the problem. Also, my site is privacy protected and I do not store history in my browser so I’ll work on that.
What about the error when trying to search? Also browser related?
February 24, 2016 at 8:57 pm #127320No, I do see that error too and I asked to Stiofan to follow up.
Thanks

For the Geolocation “Safari” has problems with Geolocation.

February 26, 2016 at 8:37 pm #128590Did you allow GeoLocation? Here’s how to recreate:
Go to page
Type in search, i.e. zoo
Click on the “Near Me” check box
Then hit SearchI’ve done it several times and it happens. It seems the error pops up if you tick the Near Me checkbox on or off. But it also seems that it’s inconsistent. Please try several times to recreate. Paolo was able to see the error and I do too, but it doesn’t always happen…
February 26, 2016 at 9:57 pm #128655I am unable to recreate, i have just released a new ver of advanced search can u update and see if you can still recreate, if so can u then screenshot the error?
Thanks,
Stiofan
March 14, 2016 at 10:30 pm #139853Hi
Im getting this error pop up box also, in both Safari and Firefox (though in Firefox it pops up briefly then clears itself and continues, in Safari I have to click OK). After this, the search completes well. I am using the latest versions of everything.
You can try this at http://aseeds.com.au/business/processor/ Ive searched for ‘hendy’ (one of our processors), received the error message, in safari been asked if I want to ignore further messages from this page (not selected), and been given the successful result. I can provide screenshots if that would help
Any suggestions welcome
March 14, 2016 at 10:48 pm #139861OK. This might be promising?
I can repeat the error. If I enter a space in the near search terms, then press enter, the error occurs. Its seems not to on the main search criteria. You can enter new text in the main search, but the error (and the space in the near search box) persists.
I think this might help 🙂 Perhaps code clearing a null text (or space) search in both boxes?March 16, 2016 at 12:56 pm #140931What does the popup that u see say?

March 18, 2016 at 1:40 pm #142430Sorry that was a very generic error, i have replaced it with “Geolocation is not supported by this browser.” Safari is funny with geolocation, basically it does not work or at very least can be temperamental, you can google the thousands of problems people have with it.
Thanks,
Stiofan
