I am trying to upload 65,000 places and every time I try to upload it it stops somewhere between 850 – 1200. Is there some way to upload my whole file?
September 5, 2014 at 5:29 am #14368I’ll forward your question to the developers.
What about breaking it up in 10 files of 6,500 listings?September 5, 2014 at 4:58 pm #14433hi,
what do you mean it stops? Do you get any error? Is it the server timing out?
To upload such a big file, your server must have a very high time out limit.
To increase that, you should contact your server administrator.
Let us know,
Thx

Thx
September 5, 2014 at 8:01 pm #14464Hi, i have a question please. I downloaded the sample csv, insert a few place. First time i had error, because i need to inser post_type. Well i don it. After i uploaded them, inclusiv lat & long, adresse and so on. But when i go to the site, the place is there, but the general map is not working and i cannot modify the adresse. I think is an error somewhere in adrresse…. any idea? thanks a lot
September 5, 2014 at 8:20 pm #14465Strange is that first i could insert them even if after they wont work on map, noiw, i cannot insert anything, because always schow error : 1 out of 1 record(s) could not be inserted due to invalid/blank post type. Only use geodirectory’s post type.
But i insert gd_place like before. could be that something wrong in database? i was looking there, but found nothing strange…. i attach csv
September 5, 2014 at 8:32 pm #14467Hi Giovanni,
the CSV data should be delimited by ” (double quotes) and , (commas).
Right now that file is using different delimiters. Are you using open offic to edit them?

September 6, 2014 at 5:43 pm #14524Hi,
you need to change delimeters settings in open office when saving.
Now you ahve Tabs instead of commas as Field delimiter.
See image attached to fix it following these steps.
1 Opening with the wrong delimiter so that you can save it correctly
2 Save as
3 Tick Edit filter settings click save
4 Keep current format
5 Change tab to commaImport…
Let me know if you made it.
Thx
September 6, 2014 at 8:34 pm #14538Hi Paolo, thanks a lot. U great 🙂 i tryed to insert the one from plugin, and it work. The problem is that map not working,. I think because i choose just Italy in Setting. So i insert an adresse from a farmhousing, with the adresse from Italy, a done like in your picture. When i upload, it work, but map is not working. The problem could be lat and long. When i insert lat and long from a place, in the csv file, they change automatic ( maybe i have to learn how csv file works…..) so when i upload the csv, map not working, bacause the lat and long. is wrong….
But doesnt matter, i will insert a few places manual 🙂 anyway i attach the photo from lat and long.
Still thanks a lot and sorry for your time 🙂
GiovanniSeptember 6, 2014 at 11:32 pm #14541Lat and lng have to be in decimal format, not in degree format.
So not 547.46.00 but 547.7666666666667 or -547.7666666666667 [depending on north vs south]
And you need both lat and lngMake sure the format of the cells is set as basic as possible [ general ]
September 7, 2014 at 4:58 am #14547thanks a lot, i will try that :-))
