    Hi
I am using the Directory Starter theme with Geodirectory. My issue is that the GD footers which appear in columns don’t appear to be present and are replaced by sidebar footers. Is this correct? If so, is there a setting to adjust it?
    Thanks
    Victor

Have a look at the demo at http://wpgeo.directory/starter/
Widgets are added to the Sidebar Footer widget areas.

Thanks. Is there a way to use footers in column format or is that controlled by the theme which in this case doesn’t support it?
    Thanks

Not sure what you mean, but there are 4 columns in the footer, each footer widget area is like a column, and you can add as many widgets to each area as you like.

    Hi

The footers show up as sidebar footers in the widget area which appears to make the footers just horizontal? Is there away to adjust so the footers are in columns?
    Thanks
    Victor

Did you have a look at http://wpgeo.directory/starter/ ?
They are in columns, are they not?

    Hi
It looks to me like the footers are stacked horizontally not separated vertically. I have attached a marked up version of the example at the referenced link and of my site.
It may just be that it isn’t possible using this theme to have vertically separated (or columns for) footers ? I imagine I could try to create columns using html?
    Thanks
    Victor

    Hi Victor,

Do you think you can share temp admin access to your site so we can take a better look at the theme structure? You can post the details here using the private reply option below.

    Thanks!

    Hi Victor,

I’ve just checked your Website and I’m able to see 3 columns in the footer. Did you manage to figure it out? If not, could you tell us a little bit more about what you’re trying to achieve?

    Thanks!

    Hi Kor,

Thanks for your message. I now see the columns in the version in my web browser. I hadn’t tried it on a regular computer before.

I think the issue may be the way that it shows up on a iPad. In the iPad version, the second and third footers just go underneath the first footer horizontally and not in separate vertical columns.

I assumed that this is not something I have control over and is instead the way the mobile browser works with the theme?
    Thanks
    Victor

Correct, that’s why it’s called responsive, the theme adjust to your device and screen size.

    Hi Victor,

That’s actually how we design the theme to work in responsive screens. We can help you to customize a little bit there. Could you tell me how do you want to footer to look like on mobile and tablet screens? Prepare a child theme and copy the footer.php over so that we could make some changes to it. http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

    Thanks!
