    Hi,
I’m planning to migrate from another wordpress directory to wpgeodirectory. I have some custom post types (like hotels, etc.). I could export into csv both listings and a full list of cities of my country, with longitude/latitude. What is not clear for me is:
    – I have to import cities before? If so, where I can find a sample/demo .csv to properly transform my list-of-city.csv ?
    – have you got some tips to plan the right migration steps?

    Thank you in advance

    Hello,

If you download and look at the sample csv file (only edit in open office, NOT excel)

You add the location info there and this will create new locations as needed when importing. (you must also have the location manager addon active)

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

    * you must have only categories installed in advance

Thanks, where I can download the sample csv file? Is this one ?

Do you mean no any listings, start from a fresh installation without any listing?

    Thanks again

no, that’s for GeoTheme, the sample file can be download from within the plugin admin page.

Thanks. What is not clear to me if we have to import the cities or if we import only listings (within cities and coordinates inside) is enough.

    Hi,

GeoDirectory will create all location that you import within listings if they are not already in your database.

No need to import them in advance like with GeoTheme.

    Thx
