I have BuddyPress on my site so would like to keep the Dashboard menu bar at the top of the site so that people can use the BuddyPress menus and notifications. However GeoDirectory is the ONLY plug-in on the site that adds itself to the dashboard menu.

Clicking on it gives a “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” message but I’d rather not have it there at all. The “Allow user to see wp-admin area = no” option will not work as that kills the menu entirely. Surely it should be possible to only display the menu option for admin users like the ‘Themes’ and ‘Widgets’ components built-in to WordPress do.

    Hi,

I added a task to only show the GeoDirectory link only if the current user has sufficient role to visit GD settings.

    Thanks for spotting that.

I have fixed this. Will be available in next version.

Post your ftp details. I’ll apply the patch in your site

    Thanks for reporting.
