There could be a plugin slowing down the wp admin. It would have been a problem also in development though.

Did you add anything new recently?

Link and wp admin credentials please?

    I’m testing now:

front end home page : approx 17 sec
front end directory page : approx 14 sec

dashboard page : approx 4 sec
geodirecty admin page : approx 5 sec
woocommerce admin page : approx 8 sec

All testes have been done with browser cache cleared.

It seems that admin is faster than backend?

Can you outline steps to reproduce what you are experiencing?

    Thanks

I’ve done pingdom speed test on front-end and they say 6sec for both home and GD. but when i clock it manually, it’s not taking that long. If they are taking 17sec for you, i need to figure this out too. It’s never taken that long in production or development.

ALL admin pages (posts, media, pages, etc) load fine.
When clicking on GD post type “Business” it takes forever.
GD post type “Events” not as bad, but still slower than WP admin pages.
GD Admin doesn’t seem as long as GD post type, but longer than WP admin pages.

Consider that I’m in Mexico and my connection is everything but fast (when it works)…

I’ve tested now the Business CPT page and it loaded in approx 7 sec.

oh, I’m not using a clock to test the pages, I use firebug Net module.

    how can we speed up?
all admin pages are slower than when in dev site, but Business CPT in GD is crazy slow at 40sec. Using Safari’s Web Inspector Timeline.
I’ve contacted hosting (Media Template) and they state issue is GD plugin.

    I’ve attached screenshot

    HI,

I’ve just tested again and I don’t see such long loading time on any of your dashboard pages. Took 7 secs for Businesses page with cache cleared and 2 secs after browser cached the page.

Given that MediaTemple is blaming this on GD (but in my opinion GD has nothing to do with it), please ask them to give you precise details about the cause they might have found, in case they are not able to point out the precise reason, I’d suggest to move to a better hosting provider.

I’m a MediaTemple client since 2009 and I’m in the process now of moving all my websites to digital ocean, because since MediaTemple was aquired by GoDaddy, their service quality has dropped even lower than it was before GoDaddy came and it was already quite low back then.

    Thanks

yea i’m not fond of MT too much. I told them the site depends on GD and no way I could remove it. I just checked checked chat logs with MT, and I was discussing General load times with them. Not specifically CPTs. Moving to a different hosting provider is not an option, in this case.

The site itself should be faster both frontend and backend.
I think I’ve read that you guys recommend not using any caching plugins, correct?

But the main concern right now is the Business CPT taking 40sec load.

Thing is, the Businesses CPT were never that slow in dev.

Was the dev server a MT grid as well?

Because that would make their claim even more ludicrous…

Another point that makes their claim totally silly is the fact that only 1 of the CPT is loading slow, even though all of them are managed using the same code.

BTW, today I checked again and I don’t see any slow loading time again.

    Thx

Yes dev was on MT too.
I reviewed chat log with MT, they were referring to front-end load times being related to GD.

I still get 40sec load time on CPT Business, with FF, Safari, and Chrome.
    Screen shot attached…

What I can see there, 34 seconds for the network request (server to answer) 6 to load the page (time spent by the applciation to do her job).

Don’t get me wrong, but posting here looking for a solution for this is a waste of time. There is nothing we can do.

    Thx
