Category Search Drop Down not showing

    Hello, we recently installed the plugin and have searched through the design and search settings in WordPress but do not see a way to add the category drop down in the search like the one on the sample here: http://wpgeo.directory/

    The version of the plugin on our site can be found at http://www.risbj.com/location

    We only have the “search for” and “near” text box search options.

    That drop down list are the different custom post types (CPT), not the categories.
    You only have one CPT so you do not need to search different CTPs.
    So that is normal. That drop down menu will get there automicatically if you add more CTPs.

    We’re using this for a fitness site, so we were looking to have a dropdown with gyms, yoga studios, etc. rather than have people click on the text links for categories. Is this possible with CTP? I installed a CTP plugin, created a CTP called gyms and added it to the places taxonomy but I’m definitely still doing something wrong. If there is a reference I can look at to help with this it would be greatly appreciated!

    This should explain a bit better hopefully what the difference is between CTPs and categories: http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/places-categories-and-listings/

    You can search by category if you use the Advanced Search Addon.

    Have a look here: http://wpgeo.directory/hotels/
    Click on Customize My Search and you will find the categories drop down towards the bottom.
