Events Plugin won't update

Hi,
I’m getting a notification that the events plugin needs to be updated but each time I try it says the update failed. I’m also wondering if that has something to do with why I’m seeing “Events post type” at the top of my events page (http://www.familyfriendlyhudsonvalley.com/events/). It was not there before and I can’t seem to remove it. Any help would be appreciated. I’ll send credentials.
