Hello, I have installed and enabled the GD Booster plugin, it’s raising HTTP error 414 (Request-URI Too Long) on my site, please go to http://www.pracrianca.com.br/ and it should show up on the chrome console.
Apparently it’s including a lot of directories under the “dir” query string parameter, so many directories that it’s raising 414 and the request is not processed. The result is that the map does not show up. When I disable the GD Booster plugin everything works fine.
December 20, 2014 at 10:18 pm #25146I really have to disable the GD Booster plugin so I can keep working on the site but I’ll leave the HTTP header that’s giving me the 414 here:

December 20, 2014 at 10:57 pm #25151Hi, can you post your URL and WP admin details in a private message, then we can have a look at what is going wrong here.
December 21, 2014 at 1:15 am #25164This reply has been marked as private.December 21, 2014 at 2:11 am #25170I’ll get Stiofan to look at this.
I changed your permalink settings to the correct setting, and you should also use the GDF child theme. That will not fix your problem, but at least you will not loose any changes when the theme is updated.December 21, 2014 at 11:46 am #25185Thank you Guust, maybe I’ll use Avada as a theme therefore theme settings are not that important at this stage, still deciding, but I really want to use GD Booster for performance!
December 22, 2014 at 6:12 pm #25273Hi,
that is an apache setting limiting URI lenght.
Please read here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2891574/how-do-i-resolve-a-http-414-request-uri-too-long-error
Your server admin should be able to easily fix this for you.
Thanks!
December 22, 2014 at 10:33 pm #25309I’ll try that Paolo, thank you.
December 26, 2014 at 6:16 pm #25501Paolo, I use a shared hosting service and they say that they won’t change this setting on Apache (it’s a global setting not possible to configure under .htaccess) because this would make it easier for DDoS attacks, it’s a security measure. Is there any other way around this?
thank you
December 26, 2014 at 6:22 pm #25502Hi,
I’ve never seen a server with such restriction to be honest. I don’t even think it could really help against DDoS Attacks.
No there isn’t any other work around other than changing hosting provider.
Thx
